Position Summary:

The ideal candidate profile for this position is someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast paced and changing environment; enjoys a challenge; possesses a strong customer service focus and a “can do” attitude; and, instinctively knows who his or her target audience is and how to effectively “speak” to that demographic.

Reporting to the Bookstore Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Bookstore operations at LaSalle College Vancouver.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Process customer account charges, sales, refunds and deposits utilizing a cash register and payment processing equipment including, but not limited, to a debit/credit machine, etc.
  • Receive merchandise, perform price labeling, stock shelves and maintain inventory levels
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving of goods including, but not limited to, a variety of parcel and packages, etc.
  • Count merchandise during the quarterly and/or annual inventory process
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned

Job Requirements:


  • High School diploma
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field would be an asset
  • Minimum 1 years’ previous relevant experience
  • Experience in Higher Education would be an asset


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of organizational skills.
  • Prior exposure to and competency with inventory management techniques.
  • Experience in register processing and computer literacy.
  • Mathematical skills to a sufficient level to support processing customer account charges, sales, refunds and deposits and to count merchandise during the quarterly and/or annual inventory process.

  • Utilize a cash register and payment processing equipment including, but not limited to, a debit/credit machine, etc.
