Behind the scenes - Project "Alisha" created by Samia M'barek, Collège LaSalle | Tunis

1. What was the source of inspiration for your project?

Our first source of inspiration is traveling. In fact, Alisha is an Indian name, which was chosen after having worked

2. How was the project created in terms of materials, location, and so on? Creative process.

The project was launched after a meeting with Inès Kebaili, my associate at Alisha Studio. We had the idea of launching our own brand after collaborating with a Tunisian brand of ready-to-wear clothes for almost a year. Inès studied Stage Design and Fashion/Model Design in Montreal. She has a sense of detail and gets her inspiration from haute couture. As for me, I studied Accessory Design and Fashion/Model Design at Collège LaSalle | Tunis. My final project was done at Cyclope Bijoux in Paris. I focus on accessories and in the finishing of materials. In 2015, we decided to merge our ideas and our fashion tastes, which are complementary, to create Alisha Studio.

3. If you had to do it again, what would you change?

Before opening our own boutique, the strategy was to build a relationship with our future clients by placing our products in popular stores. It was an intelligent approach, but we could have perfected it by proposing more options to fashion enthusiasts looking for original models.

4. In what ways have the school and the teachers helped you?

In my opinion, what sets Collège LaSalle | Tunis apart from other institutions is the strong involvement of the entire academic and administrative team. I was fortunate to have full training on all fronts, which has allowed me to get into the world of entrepreneurship and create my own project.

5. Which do you believe to be the key factors for success?

Having a clear idea of what we want, setting goals, persevering, working, not giving up, getting the means to reach success, making good decisions even in the most difficult of circumstances, finding the perfect balance between our passion and our studies and, why not, combining both to produce an entrepreneurial project.
