Black Hole Installation

For this work, I created a suspended mirror installation which used a black light, a mirror and a two-way mirror to simulate an infinitely reflecting image. The sculpture in the centre of the mirrors is a figurative representation of an abstract face that appears to reflect into an infinite abyss through the constructed illusion. Among the many meanings in this work, the primary implication of a deconstructed face reflecting relentlessly on itself through mirrored screens is a metaphor of digital identity politics - the relational contract of mediating oneself through monitors and screens until the physical is jettisoned into vastness.
