571-KS7-AS STORE LAYOUT: HITGallery | Designed by Fabio Novembre

HITGallery, designed by Fabio Novembre, is an example I've used in recent years to provoke class discussion concerning traditional approaches re retail atmospherics; here, strong, though somewhat sensationalized references to Italian Classicism and Surrealism, solidify the unique identity of this multi-brand reseller, while adding a new depth of character to carried labels. The successfulness of this commercial space in inciting a healthy conversion rate is not known, but one can be sure that its impressionable appearance, guarantees the brand some notoriety and adds to its legacy.

Having taught 571-KS7-AS STORE LAYOUT for seven consecutive years at LaSalle College in Montreal, Canada, I've observed some pretty significant changes within the Retail Industry at large, along-side my students. What is increasingly true, is the amount of choice consumers now have with regards to their purchasing power, leading competitive brands to take some interesting risks. Within STORE LAYOUT, students critically analyze the culture of shopping and come up with their own store concept, taking into account contemporary shifts in consumer behaviour.
