Smith Residence

West Vancouver, British Columbia located in the north-west city of Vancouver. It’s a mainly residential area where most of the residence retired or work at home with a population of 40,000 people. Features of the area are the ocean view, numerous public parks, 15 blocks to the seawall, which is popular for the outdoor activities. There are Royal Shopping Mall, Capilano Bridge Park, and Lonsdale Quay Market which is very popular among tourists and locals. The concept for the design came from merging two opposite styles together into one. Two design styles, art deco, and organic contemporary styles. The house interior was designed in a transitional style, marrying clean and contemporary elements with a touch of art deco charm. Energy efficient materials along with hardwood wood details were seamlessly integrated, adding sustainable design elements to this transitional design.
