Art is creation, not destruction or violence. Celebrating death as a triumph of life is incomprehensible to me. They call it a brave bull because it is violent, because it is designed to attack. This is what bullfighting lovers say. This collection is called BRAVA, with the same characteristics that bullfighting lovers attribute to the animal, but this time it directly attacks bullfighting, the only tradition in the world in which animals die and is still practicing Eco friendly The collection is exempt from any material of animal origin. In addition, all fabrics are ecological, in my opinion, being respectful with the environment is the only valid way. Male chauvinist tradition I consider that the only beauty of the bullfighting world is, without a doubt, the matador's uniform, called “lights suit”. From the beginning this practice was criticized by a part of society and that is the objective of this collection. I want to show what I see through lights suits. Originally this clothing is tight to the body to avoid snagging and to expose the masculinity of man. In contrast to this, the garments of the collection are rather wide and masculine, this time worn by women. The bullfighting world is male chauvinist, as some compare a bullfight with the way to seduce a woman. The killer is defined as a priestly figure and bisected by the suit you saw. Blood stained money. This collection is embroidered with pesetas, ancient coins reminiscent of a military dictatorship in Spain, something that has been left behind as bullfighting should do. To think about bullfights is to think of Spain anchored in the past. In addition, the currencies symbolize all the economic aid destined to the cattle ranch. Flowers In addition, lyophilized pink and white carnations have been embroidered. Originally, the quintessential flower of the bullfighting world is the red carnation, which symbolizes the blood of the bull and the feeling for this tradition. Subsequently, both dried and lyophilized flowers have been dipped in resin to obtain strength and shine. The meaning of these inert flowers is that of the completion of bullfighting and that of accompanying the animal and not the bullfighter as originally intended. The look One of the central graphic elements of BRAVA is the positional prints created through real images of scared bulls look. Painting and poetry The Guernica inside an Osborne bull, reminiscent of a time of terror and violence such as the Spanish Civil War, has helped me to compare the revulsion I feel towards a bullfight as well as any warlike conflict. I also have painted The Face of the War by Salvador Dalí, which he made between the end of the Spanish Civil War and the beginning of II World War. Fitting As for the fitting of the collection, I have created garments with a lot of volume, unlike the original light suits, with the intention of being more masculine and more similar to the body of a bull. These are asymmetrical garments without too much sense or logic, considering that bullfighting lacks it. No color. The color of the collection, goes from broken white to bone color. I wanted to strip the color of the collection, reflecting the sadness caused by the absence of it. Tribute Everything in the collection is aimed at enhancing the image of the bull that I know, innocent and sentient, revealing what has always been believed, that it is an infamous and aggressive animal. That is why, with BRAVA, I want to be able to show what I see through vindictive costumes, pay tribute to an animal that has been brutally murdered for centuries and make people aware that we all deserve to live. “The bull is decided to ram only when he is forced into it, when he has no choice, when he is tired of avoiding the fight. To accept it you have to get tired before and lead to the conviction that attacking is the only way out. ”
