Proof of concept prototype produced in Unity over the course of 10 weeks. Imagine the dialogue, tone and puzzle structure of The Secret of Monkey Island combined with the third-person design sensibilities and musical focus of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. You play as Feiyan, a traveling liuqin player as she documents the regional music in China for the Qianlong Emperor. She completes quests by interacting with the environment and people using her music. The prototype details the events leading up to her meeting with the Emperor for the first time. The game features an unique musical input mechanic where the player holds an input button then moves the control stick to simulate playing a stringed instrument (i.e. holding a fret and strumming the strings).
