The semi avantgarde project

Inspiration

My inspiration for this collection is the Orange Cube architecture, this Orange Cube architecture with two large round holes carved out of it is a design showroom in Lyon, France, by Paris studio Jakob + Macfarlane. The building is located next to a harbour and features a coloured metal mesh façade perforated with circles of different sizes. The volume is punctured in two places, with the smaller hole at ground level providing an entry point into the building. The larger hole on the upper corner of the structure creates an atrium and exposes the internal floors and balconies. The ambition of the urban planning project for the old harbor zone was to reinvest the docks of Lyon on the river side and its industrial patrimony, bringing together architecture and a cultural and commercial program. These docks, initially made of warehouses cranes, functional elements bound to the river and its flow, mutate into a territory of experimentation in order to create a new landscape that is articulated towards the river and the surrounding hills.

Concept

The concept for my collection is semi-avantgard, I played with layering of pleats, and color block. The color I’m using are shades of orange, this based on the inspiration. For the detail itself I mostly used pleats, circle laser cut, and top stitch, all of my detail are from the Orange Cube architecture. For the coloring I also use painting method to create texture and dynamic to my collection. In my collection, I made wide silhouette for the top, and I use normal construction for the bottom, this is to balanced the design so it is not to extravagant. For my target market, my collection is for UNISEX and a person who is about 22 to 35 years old. Someone who has a unique fashion trend but still searching for some comfortability.
