Cabana de Sabores

Cabana de Sabores is a Peruvian restaurant/market conceptual product design project for a potential client. It contained several components including a logo, a 7 item kit, and stationery set. A large part of Peruvian culture is their history which ties back to the Incans. They worshipped many gods and that was where the concept statement of “Experience Flavour From The Heavens” came in and connected the establishment and their culture. A llama was chosen as the logo since it is a native animal to Peru and has been used by Peruvians throughout time for various purposes such as carrying loads of items. The clay pot on the llama’s back symbolized ingredients as they were stored in containers such the one chosen. The logo was created in its style to represent Incan drawings, which often used line work. The illustration on the labels of the products displayed different Incan gods in a traditional style to link to the concept. To differentiate each god, unique headdresses were created to symbolize what they represented. The colours used were traditional colours found across Peruvian clothing which are vivid and engaging. The colour black was used as a contrasting colour to give the products a sense of sophistication and class.
