Biography

Lisa Bryant is a Melbourne-based freelance graphic designer with an interest in pop-culture, environmental awareness, screen-accurate cosplay and prop making, and challenging the status-quo. She’s an avid gamer and geek with a love for all things Marvel. Lisa has a penchant for detail and an eye for aesthetics, reflected in her painting style and design work. With a Bachelor of Science (Zoology) already under her belt Lisa draws on her background to bring an analytical approach to novel design solutions. Combining her previous education and animal sciences experience with her design skills she has developed illustrations for tertiary student resource materials, veterinary industry branding, and enamel pin collections that focus on critically endangered wildlife. Drawing inspiration from film and television, video games, comics, nature, and her own life experiences Lisa creates pieces that explore style and narratives, focusing on the adaptability of design. Though she works primarily digitally, she isn’t afraid to experiment with traditional mediums either, and strives to continually explore new techniques. Her submissions for the 36 Days of Type challenge showcased her versatility and exploration with type design. In 2016 Lisa was jointly involved in organising the panel and assets for the 1990s environmental edutainment animated series Captain Planet & the Planeteers for New York Comic-Con and the associated gallery events in New York City, working closely with the Co-Creator and Executive Producer of the series. She is currently working with Aloner on an exciting new environmental animated series, Tellus, creating the title design, character concepts, overseeing character art development, and pitch-bible design and layout.
