Burning tests, water absorbency tests, and expansion or shrinkage tests are used to identify the fabrics.
On Friday, April 9th, Textile II Class did a burn test aimed to identify textile fibers. But I started mine at april the 10th because my fabrics arrived late rather than the others. I did 3 tests which are a burning test, water absorbency test, and expansion or shrinkage test (to analyze the shrinkage level, we conduct a washing test by cutting a small piece of fabrics and washing them with detergent). All tests were done on 3 different fabrics; silk, toyobo, and pima cotton.
