This was my body of work that I carried out in my World Cuisine Class at Lasalle College (Vancouver). World Cuisine is one of the courses that is offered to students that attend Lasalle college, and it is certainly an exciting time of cooking and learning about different cultures around the world.

Porto Pudim Flan is a dessert dish that originates from Portugal. this dish consists of a custard made with milk, heavy cream, egg yolks and port wine, then it is baked in a flan dish that is topped with caramel.

Fattoush Bread Salad

This is a dish that is said to have originated from Lebanon but it is common in most Middle eastern homes/restaurants. Fattoush salad has toasted pita bread, tomatoes, bell pepper, green onion, parsley, and romaine lettuce all combined with a dressing made from lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and salt & pepper.

Lamb kebab and Greek salad are dishes that are common to the Mediterranean region. these dishes can be enjoyed together or separately, but they are both full of flavour from ingredients such as garlic,onion, oregano,dill,coriander, allspice, and red wine vinegar.

Baklava is a dessert dish that originates from Greece, and it is made with a special type of dough which is called phyllo dough. Phyllo is a super thin dough that is used in many greek dishes like baklava. Baklava is made when phyllo is laid out and pistachios are sprinkled onto the dough then it is topped with another layer of dough. this process is repeated until you get the layers to a desired height.

Lentil stew is a dish that originated from Ethiopia, and it is enjoyed with injera or flatbread. this stew is made with a combination of ingredients such as ginger, garlic, lentils, berberé( spice mixture).

Garithes me feta is a dish that originated from Greece, and it is the combination of tomato sauce, sauteed shrimp, and feta cheese that is assembled into a pan that is then placed into a salamander or oven to form a crust. Garithes me feta is commonly eaten with white rice.

Tandoori chicken and chapati are two foods which originated from India.Tandoori chicken is one of the most popular poultry dishes from india, you can find it in any Indian meat shop or restaurant. Tandoori marinade has a mixture of plain yogurt, garlic, ginger, paprika, cumin, coriander, cayenne, and cardamon. Chapati is a simple mixture of whole wheat flour and water, then is rolled into fairly thin disk. Chapati is used as a side accompaniment for many Indian dishes.

M'raad is a salad dish that originated from Egypt. It is the combination of Eggplant, toasted cumin, turmeric, onions, tomato paste, garlic, red wine vinegar, and caraway seeds, sauteed together then it is placed in a bowl by itself or with other vegetables such as lettuce.
