A quick overview of my products in our Intro to Baking class.
A flaky pie crust filled with an apple-based filling. The photo above is my second try on the apple pie because it was delicious and enjoyable to make. Method: None
A loaf of tasty banana bread filled with chocolate chunks and pecan pieces. Method: Creaming
Crispy top with a fudgy, gooey, and chewy centre. A perfect pair with vanilla ice cream. Method: Sheet Cookies
A healthy and delicious substitute for basic white bread. Method: Straight Dough
Crisp, crumbly edges with a soft and flaky center. Buttery and moist scones filled with cherry sweetness. These scones became one of my all-time favourite deserts. Just make sure that your butter is cold when making these! Method: Icebox Cookies
Classic holiday cookies. They are buttery cookies that are piped into your desired designs. Method: Piped Cookies
A basic classical French bread. They have a crunchy exterior with a chewy interior riddled with holes due to their high hydration levels. Method: Old Dough
A Thanksgiving classic dessert. A sweet custard filling accompanied by the saltiness of pecans. Method: Custard Filling
Multigrain sourdough is rich in earthy blends of seeds and grains. (Method: Sourdough Starter.) Peanut butter sandies are salty, rich, and tangy cookies that melt away on the first bite. (Method: Rolled Cookies) Pecan sticky buns are sweet dough filled with cinnamon and pecan filling. A nice compliment for a cup of morning coffee. (Method: Straight Dough) Cranberry sour cream scones are sweet, tangy, and zesty with a crumbly texture. A perfect companion to a cup of warm tea or coffee. (Method: Biscuit)
Chocolate bread is a straight dough bread mixed with cocoa powder and filled with milk chocolate chunks to counteract the bitterness of the cocoa powder. (Method: Straight Dough) Morning glory muffins are healthier than most muffins out on the market. They are filled with healthy ingredients such as raisins, carrots, apples, coconuts, and anything you desire. (Method: Muffin) Braided brioche intimidated me at first, but it became one of my favourite baked goods to make, especially by hand. They are very soft, rich, and buttery. Perfect for making French toasts or for being eaten on its own! (Method: Enriched Dough) This set of baking goods is my favourite from the entire semester.
