The competition outlines 4 different types of structures that can be designed. The first type is a Pavilion, an open structure that provides shelter or serves as a gathering space. The second is a Pop-Up, a structure that appears and often serves a commercial purpose. The third type is Sculptural, an artistic structure created from physical materials that represents something, someone or a particular idea. And the fourth type is a Useful structure, a design that serves a certain purpose. Finally, the project can be designed in 1 of 3 scales, Small, Medium or Large.

The Senior Project for the Interior Design program spanned the course of 2 quarters, a period of 6 months. The project was based on a design competition titled Architecture on the Clock, a competition that places an emphasis on temporary architecture. The requirements for the project are that the structure needs to exist in its environment for a period of time less than 1 year, meaning that it needs to be easy to transport, assemble and disassemble.
