Printed Advertisement & New Media for Dior

In this project we were ought to make a campaign ads for a brand. Here we chose to use Dior brand. So, what do we want to deliver through this campaign photo ads? Going back to the personality of “Dior Woman” which is a woman that is feminine yet has her other side(s), either powerful or intellectual, etc. But most of the time, there are some “ridiculous” stigma about feminine that still going strong until now about feminine. For instance a feminine woman should wear dress, should sit pretty, should has long hair, should smile sweetly, and many more. Therefore, through this campaign photo ads we want to break the outdated stigma/stereotype which has been stuck inside people’s mindset about “feminine”. We want to show that a feminine is not always has to be like that. The photo theme is "Vice Versa" -- which means “the other way around” and used to indicate that the reverse of what have shown is also true. The photo concept is "Loud Silence" -- we want the photo itself to speaks thousand words and delivers the message figuratively to the audience, so that they can capture/interpret the message on their own way of thinking.

In the first photo there are two models standing in the middle of the path looking to the mirror and the reflection is swap as if they want to say: oh maybe if people see me in a glimpse they'll think that I'm a feminine and stuff like that, but the moment when I see myself in the mirror, I see that my own self have another side that maybe people don't or can't even see, which is my bold side. And vice versa for the other one.

In the second we started to break the "ridiculous stereotypes" which saying that a feminine wearing skirt should sit or walk pretty and sweet. But here we want to show that; hey no, I'm wearing a skirt but it’s totally fine that I'm standing this way. And vice versa for the other one.

In the third photo,

In the third photo, model A (which feminine) break the flower pot meanwhile model B (which bold) break the cactus pot. So the meaning is that through this photo the model as if want to say that hey feminine isn't always has to related to girly things like flowers, and vice versa. The flowers and cactus here are only for symbol/figurative purposes, doesn't mean to be interpret in literal way. The interpretation is like “maybe you see me a feminine but I don't always have to be related to this girly things”, and vice versa. We also deliberately swap the facial expression to show that feminine woman doesn’t always has to smile sweetly, and bold woman isn't always has fierce face.

In the fourth photo,

In the fourth photo, after they broke the pot they're looking very happy. It’s picturing that the stigma has been broken.
