Homebound; 2021

"Homebound: Winter in Panama, Summer in Russia," a cinematic exploration of the different blocks that build a national identity, had its digital premiere on Youtube. Digging into both Russian and Panamanian heritage and ways of living, the project aims to unite two worlds often conceived of as apart. The series of interviews and mood pieces are presented in three themed acts with well-tuned and cultured voices: “URBE” with architect and urban planner Luis Alfaro and retired hydro engineer Nikolai Topcheev; “IDEM” with fashion expert Alice Stemberg and historian and author Marixa Lasso; and “LORE” with singer-songwriter Michelle Blades and an expert on Russian folklore Olesya Yeremina. These chapters reflect on topics such as urbanization, history, fashion, music, and folklore, each exploring where we come from, where we are, and where we might be.
