The Lack of Representation of the Hijab

Do Muslim women who wear the headscarf feel that they belong in Montreal, or do they feel like complete strangers? In the 21st century, it is still hard for young women who wear the hijab to find a place in the society, even in a city that celebrates diversity like Montreal. Most of them think that one of the biggest problems is the lack of representation of women like them in the media. As a Muslim woman who wears the hijab myself, I have rarely seen any representation of women like me in the media. Through this article, I discuss this issue and how it is harmful to "Hijabis."
