Residential Design - RR Apartment

This professional Residential project is located in the south of Brazil and it is currently in progress. The client is a 20-year-old business student that lives by himself and enjoys travelling, technology and games. The apartment is located in a building in downtown Balneario Camboriu, called New York Apartments. The façade and common area of this building is inspired by the Art Deco era in New York City, the great Gatsby scenery and costume and iconic buildings in the city such as Chrysler Tower, The Rockefeller Center and the Empire State Building. For the apartment, the client agreed that the inspiration should be New York City and Art Deco but with a modern approach rather than following the style literally. The RR apartment is inspired by New Yorker brick loft and its casual furniture. The Art Deco makes its appearance on the geometric shaped wall sconces and pendants, oval shaped mirrors, the material used in the powder room and the industrial gold metal shelving. The color scheme is inspired by red, brownish leaves in the Central Park during the fall, the green and yellow of subway and the abundant shades of grey of the “concrete jungle where dreams are made of”. The kitchen is a traditional American style with shaker doors although the furniture is predominantly from well-known Brazilian designers to value the local artists. This project is currently in progress. The client approved the images, the materials and finishes, demolition and construction plan and reflected ceiling plan.
