True Love

My friend Sarah is spectacular; like the kind that leaves you in awe of such beauty (in/out). What an absolute pleasure to have been the designer and couturière of her wedding dress! Olivanella, outfits performance artists (musicians, dancers, actors and actresses among other entertainers) in an ethical manner, with sustainability in mind for active participants within its supply chain of production. The label actively works alongside Disarm the Dark—a multinational (American/Canadian) human trafficking prevention organization. Sarah, is a talented singer and instrumentalist. She and her husband David, are now currently working on their first EP; what a joy to watch their relationship develop and their purpose blossom. Ah, the elegant elon

She said "I do!"

Ah, the elegant elongated swanlike silhouette that is Sarah;) A simplistic design overall, but untraditional in the sense that this dress features an extremely low open back—more than 18" from the nape of the neck to centre back at waist—and combines bamboo cotton jersey (a stretchy, lightweight, breathable + soft to the touch fabric), with quality lace (imported from France, fine ground, outlined pattern). This dress, though seemingly a second skin on Sarah, actually features five layers of fabric in the back, and three in the front (not counting interfacing). Approximately six months of prep work went into this dress from start to finish. 6 personal fittings. Around 80 hours of handwork. [Again, Brian Di Croce Photography]
