DEC Tourism Classes Experience
o Marketing and Management: The program covers 4 different marketing courses. Tourism Marketing, Marketing Research, Marketing Promotion and Strategic Marketing. Along these interesting courses we have the opportunity to learn how researches and analyzes are done. Each of the courses taught us how this activity “creates, communicates, deliver and exchange a value for the client” and how this particular relationship between the client and the clientele is done by the use of different types of media.

o Cultural and Tourist attractions: In these particular courses we learn about the highlights of the world. Each part of the world is unique, and by having courses about the continent of America including the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and the Pacific, help us to learn about different cultures and their most impressive and important tourist attractions.

o Reservation System: SIREV, APOLLO, PC VOGAGE, SABER, are really important reservation systems that any agent should know. Had the opportunity to learn about them give us an advantage in the field and having the chance to practice this tool definitely will help me to search and book any tourism product that client will request in a more accurate and professionalism way.

o Packaging creation for individuals and groups: This class taught us how to create and design from scratch travel packages according to the clients’ needs and interest. Each class has a final project and have the opportunity to create F.I.T and I.T.C for this particular class’s give me the chance to interact directly with persons that are already in the industry. Had the opportunity to practice the knowledge about everything we had learn from this class and the many other classes was a really effective for my research and I really enjoyed the experience.

o Tourism products and clientele: Learn more specifically the products find in the tourism industry, such as flights, types of lodging, car rentals, cruises, excursions-tours, etc., give me a better understanding of how I can offer them to the clients regarding their needs and interests. From how to approach them to offer them, was something this class taught us. Learn and understand how to communicate correctly give me the chance to work on my communication skills and help me to better manage different techniques that will be useful along the process of my career.
