Sky, Wind, and Stars
"Sky, Wind, and Stars" is a Yun Dong Ju's poetry collection which was posthumously published in 1948 in South Korea. Yun also fought for Korean independence and freedom during Japanese colonial era. The seven different illustrations created by Angela Kim are to express the utmost purity, beauty, and sincerity of Yun's poems which have been renowned remaining as the all-time favourites of Korean readers. The watercolour paintings, as well, intactly enhance very straightforward and emotional expressions in Yun's poems that sing of his love for his people, his compassion for the poor and his hopes for freedom and independence. The seven poems which are presented in this portfolio are derived from the officially published poetry collection "Sky, Wind, and Stars" written by Yun Dong Ju and translated by Kyung-nyun Kim Richards and Steffen F. Richards.
