A Simpler Way Publication Design

This project was designed to showcase benefits of living simply using minimalist design. Over Consumption has become a cultural norm people tend to want more than what they need. This results in a feeling of constant pressure to try and live up to their own expectations. The idea was to make the reader experience a sense of calm the fast paced world. The goal is to inspire a culture of mindfulness and community. To get this effect blue is used as a primary color, which helps to make the reader feel calm while red is used to act as emphasis. The monochromatic images depict messy or clean environments and/or people juxtaposed to give a “before then after effect. Clean and geometric sans serif fonts are used to creating negative space which is a corner stone of minimalistic design. Overlapping text of key words are used to show the juxtaposition in the ideas of what we think we need and what we need.
