TRAVEL BOOK COVERS

Book Design / Packaging / Publication This conceptual travel book series consists of a set of three novels written by Bill Bryson. Bryson lived in England for twenty years and worked for the Times. The books document the author’s experiences when he travelled through three different countries, Britain, America and Australia. “Notes From a Small Island” succinctly sums up British identity and the state of the nation. “The Lost Continent: Travels in Small-Town America” is a hilarious book about his own discovery of America and the search for his lost youth. “Down Under: Travels in a Sunburned Country” describes his journey to Australia and how he quickly fell in love with the country. These books are about travelling, so the design approach was to use some elements related to the journey, such as leather suitcases, vintage maps and stickers. A unique and dominant colour was chosen to distinguish each book. The outer case of the series was designed in the shape of luggage.
