Styling for TV Host of Talk Show

The TV host needs help with finding five outfits for his talk show. He is 41 years old and allergic to animal fibres. He likes supporting local brands by wearing their clothes. The host has a budget of $10,000 which includes a $1,500 fee of a stylist.

Monday Interview: Famous Singer

The presenter is meeting a famous musician. According to the host it is a rock star. The Monday look is inspired by the Rock-n-Roll style. The black colour palette, the D-ring on the belt and the Chelsea boots make it very edgy. However, the jeans, the shirt and the blazer give formality to the look, which is necessary for the presenter. Therefore, the client communicates appreciation of the singer’s work and also stays true to his dress code. The Poppy Barley boots are handcrafted in Canada. The Treachery jeans are produced according to the slow fashion standards by a Canadian brand. None of the clothes, except for the leather belt and shoes contain animal fibres.

Tuesday Interview: High-Ranking Politician after a Scandal

I have chosen a formal blue suit by Prada, a luxurious brand appropriate for the occasion. Due to the serious nature of the interview with a high-ranking politician, I have presented the client with a very expensive and classic style of attire, that would project seriousness and confidence. Unfortunately, because of the time limitations of one week, I have to suggest a ready-to-wear suit rather than a bespoke one. I chose a cotton suit because of the client’s allergies to animal fibres. It is also of a slim fit, which should stay nicely on the client. The white shirt is made by a Canadian brand; Indochino. I will order the slim fit because of the presenter’s small shoulders. The tie is formal black, made of silk in Canada. I went with a one-tone tie because they do not recommend wearing small patterns on screen. The socks are black cotton blend by Frank and Oak, Canadian brand. The ensemble is completed by the formal black shoes created by designers of Canadian origin, Dsquared. Keeping in mind the client’s Marco Polo socio-style, all the brands presented have high socio-ecological standards.

Wednesday Interview: Little-Known Artist

For the interview with a little-known young artist I am suggesting my client a combination of formal and informal clothing. Since the interview guest is young and creative, we would not want to intimidate him with a classic and very serious look. Nevertheless, we should also keep in mind our client’s age and profession. Therefore, I have prepared the jeans, a T-shirt, and sneakers in black and white colour scheme for a young vibe. To balance it with the age of the presenter, I am proposing him a sport blazer, also in black. To put a bit of an artistic spirit to the outfit, I chose colourful and fun socks. The jeans I chose are made by a Canadian slow-fashion brand, which considers the consequences of production on the environment. The T-shirt is made in Canada of high-quality Japanese fabric. The shoes are also made by a Canadian brand. In case the host would need a belt for a better fit, he could use the Dsquared2 one from the Tuesday show. None of the materials of the look contain animal fibres.

Thursday Interview: Comedian

I have chosen this combination of clothes for the presenter because he is meeting with a comedian on Thursday. Freedom of movement on stage is one of the major criteria for picking up the style. The pant is made in Canada of Japanese suiting cotton that has a little bit of stretch. The sneaker shoes would also provide comfort. Moreover, the Canadian maple leave would stress the host’s appreciation of the local designer. The pullover would look nicely and move along with the host without causing extra discomfort. The salmon shirt would give a little splash of colour to otherwise monotonous combination. Also, little red buttons would match the maple leaves on the shoes. The Naked and Famous, Canadian company-maker of the shirt used organic cotton of high Japanese quality. This fact makes it light and airy, which provides freedom of movement as well. All the clothes presented are animal fibre-free and made or designed by Canadian brands.

Friday Outdoor Show: Summer Festivals

I have chosen this combination of garments for our presenter because he is going to be reporting outdoors on summer festivals. The weather forecast is taken into consideration when choosing the clothes. The shirt and the trousers are made of %100 cotton, which is known for its breathable qualities. The sunglasses would go nicely with the outfit colour scheme and style and would also be necessary to protect the eyes of the client. The sunscreen is for the face protection too. The shirt is very summery and cheerful, which goes with the theme of the reportage: the summer festivals. The overall look is informal; however, it is still neat and presentable. The pants are made in Montreal of Japanese cotton twill. The belt is produced in Montreal of leather coming from Italy. The slipper loafers are by Aldo, Canadian brand. The sunscreen is made by The Ordinary, Canadian brand created to “celebrate integrity in its most humble and true form”.
