Jewellery Illustration-Wushan Goddness

Wushan Goddess What do you believe, and what do you choose to trust? Among st a folklore of violent and vengeful gods, there rises a beacon of peace, health, and light. The Wushan Goddess is a traditional character from a famous fable, passed down through the generations living around Wushan mountain in central China. In the story, the fourth daughter of the god Yandi, died of a serious illness. She was reborn as the medicinal fragrant stem grass found on the slopes of the mountain. The Wushan Goddess is a spiritual pillar of Buddhism, believed by the local people to bring health and long life to those who honor her image. My work represents the transformation of this goddess. The pearls, fine silver wire, and lightweight fabric represent her graceful transition into her final flora form. It empowers the wearer to embody her spirit, whose only purpose is to bring life and well-being to those she encounters.
