Advertising Project

We use products from Haik Mosi Mosi (local brand) to make printed advertisements and one video advertisement for this project. Haik Mosi Mosi is a local brand that was established by Kanako Takaya and the brand fusing Japanese soul and Indonesia’s craftsmanship. There are Oppai Bag, Neck Bag, and Yokogao Bag with Wa Iro color as it's a trademark color from Haik Mosi Mosi. The concept of our project is sexual freedom along with self-expression. This concept is not as sexual as it's heard but it's more into funny and satire and the purpose is to entertain viewers. The printed ads were edited by Clarissa Netania and the video ad was edited by Wei Studio. The printed ads were inspired by Toilet Paper Magazine, meanwhile, the video ad was inspired by KENZO resort 2013 and John Mayer's music video.

The scissors

Two scissors facing each other, this symbolizes lesbian. Also, the background was inspired by the lesbian flag.

Can You Hear Us?

The whale and bats serve as a meaningful element of humor. The whale is infrasonic meanwhile the bats are ultrasonic, they can't hear voices that come from humans. But we make them as they can hear the voice of LGBT people. So, the meaning of this printed ad is 'Can you hear them? Even animals like whales and bats can hear their voices. Why you as a human can't hear the voice of each other?'

Brain hearted

This second sketch is entitled 'Brain-Hearted' where there is a heart-shaped brain as the main object which is placed on the table along with cutlery. This sketch idea was inspired when I was watching a Japanese singer wearing a mask with a brain pattern. The spoon and fork in the middle symbolize heterosexual gender and the cutlery at the end symbolizes homosexuality. The hidden message here is, every human being has a brain and heart and they deserve to be respected, whether they are heterosexual or homosexual, no one is considered inhuman.

Can You See Us?

This printed ad entitled 'Can You See Us' was inspired by the 'Can You Hear Us?' printed ad where it's presented the audio theme meanwhile this printed ad presented the vision. Brachiosaurus and ants serve as a meaningful element of humor. Large brachiosaurs with minuscule ants were very difficult to see because of their size. The implication of this sketch is that 'brachiosaurs and ants with limited vision can notice LGBT people, we humans should be able to look and respect LGBT people without assuming they don't exist. Here the female model is posing manly.

There is a paper tea

Two-Sided

There is a paper tear in the middle of two pictures that describe two sides of a man which are the masculine and feminine side. On the left, the man is holding a toy gun to symbolize masculinity and on the other hand of the man is holding lipstick to symbolize feminism as we all know that there is quite a lot of man wearing makeup today.

Self Expression

We’re inspired by the owner of Haik Mosi Mosi’s sense of humor, Kanako Takaya. Apart from self-expression in the video, there is still an element of sexual freedom with happy vibes, euphoria, and colorful. The sexual freedom element can be seen from the properties used, the style of the model, and also the model's gestures.
