LAB Booking Application

LAB Booking Application is a project created in a collaborative team. Our team wanted to tackle the problem of overcrowded or underused computer labs in an educational institution. The concept for this app came to us from our own personal experience. We decided to use the five design thinking stages: by using this methodology, we were able to understand the design issues and work through various iterations and solutions.

One of the solutions

Research

One of the solutions we came up with was adding an advance booking system enabling students to reserve their workstation at a given time and date.

We started off with

Flowchart

We started off with a flow chart to see what we needed for the app. This helped us optimize the flow of the app. With the booking system, students will be able to manage and save their time as well. During the pandemic, the app will limit the number of students going in and out of school. After identifying the problem and solution, the next move was to consider the transition of concepts to functional features.

After we gathered ev

After we gathered everything we had done, we combined it all into the design stage.

We used the colour t

We used the colour that has been agreed on and implemented it into the app. Blue was the chosen colour as it represents productivity, trust, and stability. After all the process, the name that we decided on was LAB, which stands for Laboratory Advanced Booking.
