ElemenTech

ElemenTech is a group project I worked on for four quarters roughly about 9 months with students from different disciplines such as Game Design and 3D Artist and Modelers. Within this time span we went through the basic timeline of game development being pre-production, production, and post-production. The game we created is a competitive 2D couch game called ElemenTech like Super Smash Bros. Which was created using the Unity Engine within the team we had a total of 6 people in the beginning which was 4 programmers and 2 game designers however some left the team and by the end we were down to 2 programmers and 2 game designers. We had four characters each with their own element and special characteristics and abilities attached to them. For example, the water hero could tap dash allowing them to shorten the distance of their dash in addition to being able to dash strike by attacking at the end of their dash. On the other hand, Earth hero does not have the ability to tap dash or dash strike like the water hero however, they can earth stomp allowing them to fast fall in the air and deal damage to whoever they land on. The other two heroes also have unique caveats to them. All heroes have basic movement to them such as jump, dash, shield, special attack (projectile shot) and melee attack. The movement works in a sort of rock paper scissors manner. As the player can dash to be immune to projectiles however are susceptible to melee attack, shields can block melee attacks but are susceptible to projectile fire. If you get the right timing for the shield your character will do a parry counterattack in the direction they were hit.
