EYAS KIDS Preschool

“EYAS KIDS Preschool & Library” is located at Coal Harbour, Vancouver, beside Stanley Park and the Pacific Ocean. The overall style of the school and library is a mix of modern minimalism and dream Dadaism; it portrays the kindergarten's principle of innovative modern technology and a positive attitude towards life, the layout of function areas creates an open organic interior space. ​ The inspiration is drawn from children's essence, mainly in wood and white tones, bright and warm; the child's perspective is the primary design reference factor. The activity platform provides a dramatic spatial experience for kids. The design focus on children's feeling experiences and safety concern during their school time, “EYAS KIDS Preschool & Library” encourages children to explore the nature and feel the value of creative and education while resting and playing. The design also considered the humanistic care of every kid and employee. Teaching and game areas are well integrated with the whole preschool; no partitions break the spatial closure, restores the freedom of space, and maximize the care relationship. ​ “EYAS KIDS Preschool & Library” let the children be the guide. The sunshine leads the way and brings the children to experience the individuality and unique light and shadow space. The core area is full of natural light, makes everyone enjoys being by the harbour and being by the forest.
