Residence One is designed for a young family, this family is a couple and three children, parents need to work from home. The house, for a young family, was to be robust, liveable and light-filled but with a layering of spaces that provided flexibility, separation, and privacy. Internal courtyards, operable perforated screens, lofty spaces, and muted materials were keeping with the brief for robustness. The house is simple and bold, with architectural features capable of withstanding some imperfections, purposefully rough-laid brickwork and stone. Compact but integrated with all external vegetation and with a very strong connection between kitchen and all the other spaces.Spacious and bright, modern and luxurious the results are remarkably laid-back with family and friends that brings it all to life. Large socials spaces and open areas are important: Kitchen & Living Room & Dining Area & Home Office & Study Area The children each get their own compact sleeping area with sliding doors that give a hint of privacy. Just outside of the sleeping quarters is a larger space where they can hang out together to play or do their homework. The living room used a white painted exposed brick on the wall to give light texture and casual look for gathering activity, while also helps illuminate the whole space
