Biography
Tessa Willett grew up in North East Victoria and moved to Melbourne for her studies. Tessa holds a bachelor degree in design arts where she majored in fashion and costume design and sub-majored in graphic and digital design at LCI Melbourne. The world of art, creativity and imagination has always been an area Tessa naturally gravitated towards in her formative years. Gradually, through a lot of trial and exploration, fashion has become the focal point of her personal life and career pursuit. Tessa’s design style has evolved to take on a classical, but modern day theme. She has deep interest in sustainability, high quality products and being socially and economically considerate in the fashion world. Tessa has a keen eye for exploring bold colours and patterns but keeping the style and silhouettes timeless and trans-seasonal, taking into account our country’s diverse climate. Tessa would like to gain as much experience in the fashion world, culminating knowledge, techniques and inspiration from companies, brands and creative people, without deviating from her personal style. It is in the hope that she may grow as a creator and designer, yet stay true to the design philosophy that embodies her unique and fun style inspired by Australian casual aesthetic. Tessa aspires to create her own label in the near future and she would like the brand to pay homage to her rural roots and design principles that attracted her to the fashion industry originally. Authenticity is of great value to Tessa and she wants a brand that has a foundation of honesty, expression, good old Aussie simplicity and service to the most important person in the fashion industry-the customer.
