Installation “leaves space and time as it’s only dimensional constants” . It is unrestricted and enables an audience to have a sensory experience with art. To do so, space must be constructed well in order for the artist to shape the way the viewer experiences the work. Will it be cluttered, overwhelming and claustrophobic? Will it consume, put the viewer in a trance? Will it be orderly, spatial or fixed? How will the space interact with the work? Space determines interpretation, context and dimensions. Infected symbolizes a consumption of space, a plaguing of an area, a growing force in its immense form. Quote: Nicolas De Oliveria, Installation Art (Smithsonian Insitution Press, 1994)
