Sylvie Pinsonnault

Sylvie Pinsonnault has had a career in the financial industry for 35 years, including nearly 23 years at Investissement Québec. Her leadership and extensive knowledge of the entrepreneurial landscape are recognized, having led her to hold highly strategic positions.
From 2019 to 2023, Sylvie served as a member of Investissement Québec's Investment Committee and Management Committee, holding the position of Senior Vice-President for Strategy, Innovation, and Sustainable Development. During this period, she successfully led several major strategic initiatives, including Innovative Manufacturing ($2.4 billion) and Innovation Productivity ($2.4 billion). These initiatives were designed to enhance competitiveness and foster accelerated business growth. Additionally, Sylvie played a key role in driving the Competivert initiative ($1 billion), which aimed to encourage companies to embrace clean technologies and adopt eco-responsible practices, ultimately fostering increased competitiveness while reducing their environmental footprint.
Under her leadership, Sylvie steered the overall strategic direction of the company, which underwent a significant expansion in its mandate in 2019, marking a pivotal moment in its history. She spearheaded the development and implementation of strategic plans for the periods 2020-2023 and 2023-2027 as well as the sustainable finance and responsible investment strategy.
Additionally, she oversaw business solutions as well as omnichannel marketing activities encompassing brand image and customer experience, communications (media, communications and public affairs) and Investissement Québec-CRIQ (digital transformation and innovation of companies).
Previously, Sylvie held various Vice-President positions over the years, notably Vice-President of Venture Capital and Investment Funds, two lines of business that she established and led with performance and impact for many years. Two success stories of companies propelled to global leadership: Coveo and Lightspeed: Superior valuation >$1B; Return >3X.
She has served on several boards of directors, including Albecour, CDMV, Réseau Capital, Coveo (observer), Teralys Capital (investment committee), FIER Partners, STIQ, AFFQ, Finance Montréal and Conseil de l’innovation du Québec. She was also chair of the recruitment committee of QG100, which brings together 100 leading global companies. Sylvie currently serves as a board member of La Vie en Rose. She is the president of the board of Revenu Québec and its governance and ethics committee. She is also president of the board of LCI Education Network and of its audit committee. In addition, she is a member of the advisory committee of Anges Québec Capital and of Intersand Group.
Recognized as a woman of action, possessing strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent execution skills, Sylvie was selected in 2022 as one of Canada's Top 100 Most Powerful Women by WXN in the Executive Leaders category. She holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and an MBA from City University Business School in London, specializing in International Business & Export Management. Sylvie has also held positions of responsibility at CAE, Scotiabank, EDC, and RCGT.
